Good morning/brunch all!
I hope you’re having a great and restful Memorial weekend. I don’t work till Wednesday so I’m super psyched. Although I will for sure be keeping myself busy, I’m excited to do so.
Quick update number one: I don’t know yet what will happen with my HR case but the investigation is still open. I’m at peace either way. I spoke up, I did my part, and whatever happens next is out of my hands. I will not wear a blindfold or plug up my ears, but I’ll allow the Ashleys to gain confidence so they can trip up and do something scandalous. This job isn’t my last stop anyhow.
Quick update numero dos. I’ve set aside my fantasy book until June. It won’t stay in the back burner too long like my mobile karaoke business, but I needed a break. My mind was fogging and self-sabotaging and you don’t harm what you love. Instead, I decided to refocus my attention on rereading (Beauty: A Retelling of the Story of Beauty and the Beast by Robin McKinley) and finishing my Lego Orchid. Since I finished my most recent Digital Marketing class, I decided to give myself a spring break of sorts and harness my chi. Lol. I don’t know. I figured if I was going to write well, then having a little playtime and going back to the source would help. Even in yoga, you have to give yourself breathing room before moving on to your next pose. I also decided to sign up for a Storytelling MasterClass with Levar Burton. I hope all of this will rewire my brain in a good way, so I can finish my book in a healthy way. (I thought MasterClasses were a lot more expensive, but they’re actually super affordable.)
What else? Well, I decided to get myself a typewriter, water color paper, and a bunch of other cute shiz to create Self-Love Letters. Yep. I really enjoy helping people love themselves (and writing), so I figured this would be the best of both worlds. (Another reason I took a break from my book.) So yeah!
