Self-care is most definitely a daily practice — despite my ongoing plot towards the contrary. The good thing is I used to carry two bosses over my shoulder and now I carry one, which makes it more “manageable.” Because it’s not like I wasn’t aware I was the other one — I noticed that a while ago as my previous blog posts have protested — it’s just that I still seem to be stuck on this one-size-fits-all, fixes-all mentality.
But no. Self-care is a daily practice and some days are easier and some days are not. Sometimes it doesn’t take much to lift my spirits and sometimes I need a giant forklift capable of lifting mountains.
I used to say that the problem with thinking anything is possible is thinking anything is possible. I think anyone with anxiety knows what that means. We know that we think of everything that can possibly go wrong and before that thought is even finished there are 1000 more anxiety meteors heading your way ready to leave a crater where you stand.
But I. Am. So. Tired.
I am working on redirecting that meteor shower in on itself. I have been working on redirecting all that energy towards still believing anything is possible but in a way that works in my favor. Using — as I’ve mentioned many times before — my 99/1 1/99 philosophy positively.
Still, self-care is a daily practice and I need to know that’s okay — as I’ve spent the past year in this blog demonstrating. All we can hope for is that it gets softer and easier to return to our true natural state: peace. We all could be wrong about what we know anyway, so why not choose to believe that while we’re pretending?

Is self-care a goal post or a daily exercise for you?
P.S. The new Street Fighter movie was incredible. I had such a great time. I don’t really care that they for sure fan-serviced millennials. Admit y’all, we’re the funnest, favorite generation :p
